Once you’ve exited the train, exit the platform towards 10th Street. Follow Market Street towards 2nd Street (approximately 20 minutes walking distance to the hostel). Bank Street is between 3rd and 2nd Streets on the right hand side.

Taxis to the hostel cost $29.50 plus a $1.50 gas surcharge, plus tip. It’s a fixed price and the cost is usually posted on the back of the seat in front of you. Taxis are located outside of each terminal.

Lyft and Uber will also pick you up from the airport.

Greyhound and Flixbus

Beginning November 16th, 2023, buses will drop off and pick up passengers at Spring Garden Street and Columbus Boulevard. From there you can take the Market-Frankford (blue) Subway Line westbound. You would take the subway one stop and exit at the 2nd Street Station. After passing through the turnstiles, take the stairs to your left. Once above ground, cross to the other side of Market Street and walk West towards 3rd Street. Turn left onto Bank Street and look for all the American flags, or if you’re arriving at night, look for the bright lights.

If you prefer to walk, it would take you about 20 minutes. From Spring Garden Street, turn left on 2nd Street and continue until your reach Market Street. Cross to the other side of Market Street and walk West towards 3rd Street. Turn left onto Bank Street and look for all the American flags, or if you’re arriving at night, look for the bright lights.

Using Megabus from New York

The Megabus (tickets are only available online at www.megabus.com) is often the cheapest bus between New York (Penn Station) and Philadelphia. From New York City, you have the option of getting off at 30th Street Station (the last stop in Philadelphia) or beginning November 16th, 2023, buses will drop off  passengers at Spring Garden Street and Columbus Boulevard (the first stop in Philadelphia).

From Amtrak’s 30th Street Station (including Megabus from cities other than New York)

Take the blue-line subway from the train station. Enter the subway station and follow the signs for Eastbound direction towards Frankford. Exit the train at 2nd Street and walk towards 3rd Street (Bank Street is between 2nd and 3rd Street). Turn left on Bank Street. Our hostel is near the end of the street.

Parking

There are many parking lots near the hostel charging anywhere from $17 to $36 per day. However, most will charge you for two days if you park overnight. So we highly recommend the Ritz East parking garage on 2nd Street between Chestnut Street and Walnut Street. They charge $26 for 24 hours of parking no matter when you park your car. It is less than a 2-minute walk from the hostel. For detailed directions on Google Maps click here.
