Getting To Apple Hostels

From Philadelphia International Airport

Take the Airport train (just follow the signs, there are stops located at each terminal). The cost is $11 payable in cash on the train. Get off at Jefferson Station. Once you’ve exited the train, exit the platform towards 10th Street. Follow Market Street towards 2nd Street (approximately 20 minutes walking distance to the hostel). Bank Street is between 3rd and 2nd Streets on the right hand side.

Taxis to the hostel cost $32 plus a $1 for each additional passenger if you are more than 1 person, plus tip. It’s a fixed price and the cost is usually posted on the back of the seat in front of you. Taxis are located outside of each terminal. It is illegal for taxis to charge more than this. You should confirm with the taxi driver before getting in the taxi.

Lyft and Uber will also pick you up from the airport.

Greyhound, Peter Pan and Flixbus

Buses will drop off and pick up passengers at the Philadelphia Bus Station, also known at the PPA Transportation Center, located at 1001 Filbert Street. We’re about a 19-minute walk from there. Just walk to Market Street and turn left on Market Street, and you’ll be walking East. Eventually, you will want to cross to the South side of Market Street as you continue walking East. You’ll turn right onto Bank Street, which is the first street after 3rd Street. If you get to 2nd Street you’ve gone too far. We’re at the end of Bank Street, just look for all the American flags (or all the rainbow flags during the month of June). At night, look for all the string lights hung across the street between our two buildings.

From Amtrak’s 30th Street Station (including some buses such as Peter Pan)

Take the blue-line subway from the train station. Enter the subway station and follow the signs for Eastbound direction towards Frankford. Exit the train at 2nd Street and walk towards 3rd Street (Bank Street is between 2nd and 3rd Street). Turn left on Bank Street. Our hostel is near the end of the street.

Parking

There are many parking lots near the hostel charging anywhere from $17 to $36 per day. However, most will charge you for two days if you park overnight. So we highly recommend the PFS East parking garage on 2nd Street between Chestnut Street and Walnut Street. They charge $30 for 24 hours of parking no matter when you park your car.
