What’s Happening?
4th of July: FREE BBQ
Join us for our FREE 4th of July Barbecue. Enjoy some hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, beer and cold drinks outside the hostel starting at 3pm. Then around 5pm we will head to the parkway for the largest FREE outdoor concert in the US and to watch the explosive fireworks finale over the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Or, hang around Old City and then catch the fireworks over the waterfront, just a 10-minute walk from the hostel.

Free Tours by Foot is pleased to present the only Free, tip-based guided walking tours in Philadelphia. These unique and entertaining tours will take you through many of Philly’s most interesting neighborhoods.

The Freedom Rings in Philly Tour will take you on a 2 hour tour of Philadelphia’s most iconic sites. Ice Skating at Penn’s Landing
Every winter the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation opens up a ice skating ring at Penn’s Landing. You can rent skates for $3 and have fun with other hostel guests. It is also a great chance to see the Benjamin Franklin Bridge at night.

Terror Behind the Walls Tour
The massive Eastern State Penitentiary — a gothic, castle-like structure in Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighborhood — is home to one of the nation’s largest and most ambitious haunted attractions, Terror Behind the Walls.
The event has been ranked one of the nation’s Top 5 haunted attractions by America Online, and called “perfect for Halloween” by The New York Times.

Ghost Tour
Visit some scary sites to hear Philadelphia’s haunted stories, experience Philadelphia’s historic buildings by moonlight and wander with Bradley through the cobblestone streets of Old City to hear about Benjamin Franklin’s ghost. Free beer when the tour gets back to the hostel!
